DC-3 Airways World Rally 2008

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

DC-3 Airways and welcome to the DC-3 Airways World Rally 2008, which will begin on the 18th October 2008. After an absence of two years we have returned with a selection of ten interesting and challenging flights from around the world created by Senior VP. Tim Cook. The rally will be spread over thirty days giving each pilot a three day ‘slot’ in which to fly each flight. More details on when each flight may be flown are given in the World Rally Rules. Each flight has been given an individual ‘Start-up’ situation where the departure airport and the weather has been correctly set. This will create an equal situation for everyone.

Aeroplayer is a must have, because it saves you frame rates, compared when using other media players, such as Winamp, and Windows Media Player.
Aeroplayer is ideal for playing music as you soar the sky or as you play Ship Simulator 2008 or any other PC game for that mather.
AeroPlayer comes with a built in update checker.
To check for updates and download them, simply click
‘Check for Updates’ found at the welcome tab in the top right corner.

Aeroplayer runs in the background of your games, so start Aeroplayer before you start playing your games.

Aeroshot:
Aeroshot is a game screen capturing tool, which captures screenshots of your FS2004 and FSX experience. Aeroshot also works with any other PC game out there. All you have to do is press Print Screen ”key” on your keyboard, and it will capture and save your screenshots to your chosen autosave directory and format. You can even add a text watermark to your screenshots. Aeroshot saves you the time of pausing flight simulator, minimizing it, opening paint, pasting it, and saving it. FSX uses BMP files when taking screenshots by default. FSX uses several near 5 mb for each image captured files.

With Aeroshot you will be able to save your images into four different files of your choosing in sizes as low as 99 KB in JPG format: This is ideal when taking several images of your game.

Jetman flies over English channel

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

A Swiss man has become the first person to fly solo across the English Channel using a single jet-propelled wing.

Yves Rossy landed safely after the 22-mile (35.4 km) flight from Calais to Dover, which had been twice postponed this week because of bad weather.

The former military pilot took less than 10 minutes to complete the crossing and parachute to the ground.

The 49-year-old flew on a plane to more than 8,200ft (2,500m), ignited jets on a wing on his back, and jumped out.

Yves Rossy aimed to reach speeds of 125mph

Mr Rossy had hoped to reach speeds of 125mph.

It felt “great, really great”, said Mr Rossy: “I only have one word, thank you, to all the people who did it with me.”

He said weather conditions on Friday had been perfect and his success signalled “big potential” for people to fly “a little bit like a bird” in the future.

Known as “Fusionman,” he was aiming to follow the route taken by French airman Louis Blériot 99 years ago when he became the first person to fly across the English Channel in a plane.

AI Flight Planner Version 1.5 Available

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

A revolution in AI flight planning. AI Flight Planner is a fully-integrated, TTools format-compatible AI flight planning tool for Microsoft Flight Simulator, both FS9 and FSX versions.

The range of functions include:
stock and add-on airport data collection
TTools-format text files or compiled traffic files as source
conversion of FS9 flight plans and traffic files for use with FSX
creation and editing of flight plans in either the custom flight plan leg editor or a plain text editor
subsetting of flight plans by airport (both inclusive and exclusive)
validation of all aspects of flight plans
compilation of flight plan data into flight simulator traffic files.

Among its unique features are:
arrival and departure times may be specified using local times
use of either IATA or ICAO airport designators
ICAO and IATA codes, UTC-offset and positional data for any airport is only a few mouse clicks away
aircraft may be assigned directly from FS9 or FSX aircraft folders
flight plans are created and edited on a per leg basis; using a day-of-week field, similar legs in weekly flight plans need be entered only once.

To avoid wasting valuable FPSs on unnecessary overhead, AI Flight Planner allows you to extract from airline system-wide flight-plan data only those flight plans that visit any of a user-selected list of airports. And, then, if you wish, it will exclude those same airports from default traffic files.

AI Flight Planner does it all!
